Reviews Word on the street

Lumix DMC-GX1  vs Nikon 1 V1

The familiar Panasonic clickable thumb dial that is used to adjust exposure compensation as well as shutter and aperture values makes the GX1 an easy camera on which to change exposure parameters between shots.
Lumix DMC-GX1

We'd still just give the edge to the G3 thanks to its built-in EVF and rotating LCD screen, and the Sony NEX-7 that we're also reviewing soon is definitely a very big rival, but if you want virtually all of Panasonic's compact system camera technologies in a small, customisable and intuitive package, the new Lumix DMC-GX1 fits the bill almost perfectly.
Lumix DMC-GX1

Its fast AF system and dual physical/ touchscreen control interface, coupled with a pleasing number of customisable buttons and shortcuts to frequently-used functions makes the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 a joy to shoot with.
