And the D7100 one-ups its Nikon stablemates with an RGBW rear LCD which offers more efficient operation and gives the option for greater brightness than an RGB panel, making the screen much more usable in direct sunlight.

so bad...
I'm really struggling as to which camera to buy. Canon EoS 70D or the Nikon D7100. I think the Nikon is better, then read some other reviews, that cause me to think the Canon is better. Grrrrr! I want a camera that will take awesome clear pictures when blown up to big poster sized pictures - nature, night, you name it. I'm told the canon is better for video, but I'm not going to be doing a lot of video, maybe some. Any help?
DPreview's is important not others because they are not camera/photography specific websites
This site is biased apparently.
its still there... i mean the d7100 outperforms in almost all the categories... how does the 70D have a higher rating? is the number simply a placeholder?
The D7100 has better image quality, low light, more focus points, bigger screen, better battery life, and shorter shutter lag/faster start up and the Canon wins? I call BS.
i have compared sample photos of 70d & d7100.... nikon d7100 has more sharpness. at iso 25.600 nikon d7100 has more detail & canon 70d litle less detail.. But in video mode canon 70d is better...smooth focusing...
if you want take video....Canon 70d is better. if you want image quality & good photography....nikon d7100 is better...
Our mistake - our site does rate cameras but should not have been rating the 70D yet. The site does some caching but the rating should be gone now, and a rating will appear once we have some benchmarks and reviews for the 70D!
Phase detection on the 70D, are you talking about still or video? You don't know which is better until the 70D is released. Check your info before you rate the cameras. Canon 70D hasn't hit the market yet. How can you give it a score? Especially when you're wrong about a spec. What else are you wrong about? How can you say which is the better value? I like the wifi vs I like the mega pixels? I like the flip out screen for my photo style vs I like more options in video? Buy good lenses first. You can have a camera that has a million mega pixels, 32,000 super duper cross section 3 dimensional focus points and 14 billion ISO. And yet if all you have is a coke bottle for a lens? What good is the camera? Next years camera will be better, so I can use the coke bottle again. The camera is no good in the closet while you are using your camera phone.
