The aurora stratosphere video we put together can be found here: https://youtu.be/vlyavVJ-ZXE (SAR note: I embeded the video at bottom of this message) Recovery video here: https://youtu.be/BsIEGbRTOQ4 More information behind the project is here: http://nightcrewlabs.com/projects/alaska/aurora/",",".
I’m writing to share a story and video about sending a Sony a7S to near-space to film the aurora borealis (northern lights) from the stratosphere, for the first time ever!
In this video the BBC explains what cameras they used the past decades to record their Planet Erth series.
And from minute 5 you can see how the Sony A7s played an important role for them!
Sony is careful to note that even cameras not listed above may still suffer a shortage, but as Sony Alpha Rumors states, Sony's focus appears to be on maintaining production of their newest products as they continue to work on getting everything back up to speed.
Notably absent from this most recent announcement is the second-generation A7-series cameras and Sony's latest APS-C mirrorless camera, the A6300.
Motion blur is also troublesome and countering it fully requires a very high ISO, so Norman and his girlfriend opted for a "happy medium" to get a good exposure without too much noisy and as little motion blur as possible.
Glare is a big problem when shooting through a window, especially an airplane window at night.
