Reviews Word on the street for the Samsung NX210

Generally the NX210 is a very pleasant camera to handle in both fully manual and Auto modes.

The 20.3 megapixel APS-C CMOS megapixel sensor used in the NX210 produces noise-free JPEG images at ISO 100-800, with ISO 1600 also looking very good.

Of course, if you shoot raw or only view photos at small sizes then it's perfectly fine (but if you only display your shots at small sizes then you shouldn't be spending this much on a camera).

The 621k dot AMOLED screen works very well in bright sunlight.

What People Are Saying Give it to me straight

The metal-bodied NX210 features a 20.3 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, high speed capture and fast auto focusing, ISO range of 100-12800, 1080p HD movie recording, built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, 3-inch AMOLED screen, 8fps continuous shooting, 3D Panoramas and Samsung’s unique i-Function lens.
by Photography Blog (Jul, 2012)
To that end, the NX210 employs the same 20 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor as its predecessor, which is around 1.5x physically larger than the Micro Four Thirds system and promises to rival the image quality of the majority of DSLRs, whilst still maintaining a small camera body that is very similar to the likes of the comparable Sony NEX, Olympus PEN and Panasonic G-series.
by Photography Blog (Jul, 2012)
For those unfamiliar with Samsung's i-Function system, it consists of a button on the lens, which invokes shooting settings, such as ISO sensitivity or shutter speed, which you then change using the manual-focus ring.

In theory, this is a great idea, but in practice on larger lenses such as the 60mm f/2.8 macro, or even the 18-55mm lens, it can be a little awkward to use, especially one-handed.
by TechRadar (Apr, 2012)
Apart from a custom button on the back of the camera you can assign various parameters, such as aperture, shutter speed, exposure compensation, ISO or white balance, to the iFn button that's found on most NX lenses.
by DPReview (Aug, 2012)
Other lenses currently available in the Sony NX mount include a 60mm f/2.8 macro lens, an 85mm portrait lens and a 20mm pancake lens.

Image quality

Images have lots of detail, while colours are represented accurately and vibrantly.
by TechRadar (Apr, 2012)
Auto white balance does a good job of reproducing accurate colours, even when shooting in artificial or mixed lighting conditions.
by TechRadar (Apr, 2012)
Colours are represented very well on the whole, with lots of vibrancy without being over the top.

As with a host of Samsung's 2012 cameras, the NX210's built-in 802.11n wireless can be used to connect to your Wi-Fi network for automatic backups to a Windows computer or Microsoft SkyDrive, viewing photos and movie clips on DLNA-equipped devices, or sending them by e-mail; to connect to other Samsung Wi-Fi cameras for direct sharing between cameras; to connect to hot spots or wirelessly tether to a smartphone; and to connect directly to an Android or iOS device.
by c|net (Aug, 2012)
The Samsung's Wi-Fi radio is only active while you are connected to either a smartphone or a Wi-Fi network.
by DPReview (Aug, 2012)
The Wi-Fi mode gets its own dedicated mode dial position, and once you've set the dial here you can choose from the following options.
by DPReview (Aug, 2012)

The NX210 produces extremely good raw images up to ISO 3200, but JPEGs begin to show noticeable artifacts as low as ISO 400.
by c|net (Aug, 2012)
This chart indicates that TIFF images (after conversion from raw) from the Samsung NX210 have a greater dynamic range than the Nikon 1 and Samsung NX200's images at lower ISOs, are similar to those from the Olympus PEN E-P3, but they lag behind the results achieved by the Panasonic G5 throughout the sensitivity range, and are significantly behind the Sony NEX-5n.
by TechRadar (Apr, 2012)
Auto, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200, 6400, 12800 (1 or 1/3EV step) AUTO ISO upper level is selectable.
