Samsung NX1

Released November, 2014
  • 28 MP
  • APS-C 23.5 x 15.7 mm BSI-CMOS
  • 3" OLED
Samsung claims that this rate can be maintained for up to 78 Fine Quality JPEGs or 21 raw files, which is very impressive, but it's important to remember that this will take just over 3 seconds of shooting JPEGs or around 1.4seconds of raw files.

Rumor mill keeps on turning: Samsung NX lenses marked as “closeout”

by Jeremy Gray |
www.imaging-resource.com
If they were going to finally put a stop to these very persistent rumors of their imaging business' demise, CES seems a logical place to do it.
Samsung can make all of the statements they want, but as long as they aren't releasing information on new products, it's difficult to put a lot of confidence in their denials of very persistent rumors that they're leaving the imaging industry.

Samsung NX1 firmware update 'coming soon'

by Rod Lawton |
www.techradar.com
Autofocus requirements for video are different to those for stills, and the NX1 firmware update will bring AF speed control (to make refocussing smoother and less 'jumpy', for example), and an AF responsiveness control for adjusting the camera's refocus speed if an object passes in front of the subject.
One of the key improvements will be the ability to capture a still image from a single frame of video.
And the AF ON button can either have its function swapped with the AE-L button, or it can be used to toggle between autofocus and direct manual focus operation.
There are also three luminance level options to prevent clipping / blocking, autofocus speed and reaction time can be adjusted, and both ISO sensitivity and audio levels can be adjusted during capture.

Samsung NX1 review

by Angela Nicholson |
www.techradar.com
It feels great in the hand, is weatherproof, provides plenty of control within easy reach, is enjoyable to use and produces superb quality images.
It seems strange to split the AF controls in this way especially as when AF point mode is selected in the Touch AF options so that the FA point can be selected with a tap on the screen, the AF button mode options are available.
