Released August, 2014
  • 16.1 MP

The E-M10 also has a tilting touch screen and although it won't tilt into a position for helping with selfies – as with the E-PL7 – there's Wi-Fi connectivity that allows the camera to be connected with a smartphone so images can be composed (and camera settings adjusted) on the phone screen.

I liked the PEN E-PL7, it’s a great development of the PEN line and a capable, classy model.
Of course you can always fit a different lens and not everyone’s a selfie fanatic so neither is a critical failing, but they do prevent the E-PL7 from scoring our top award.

Keeping the camera in AF-S can work if you're careful to continue to re-focus often (with a half-shutter press), but it's tough to catch movement towards you with any degree of accuracy, because by the time you've locked focus the players will have often moved.
I find in AF-C that most cameras in this price range tend to lose focus often, swimming wildly in and out of focus before reacquiring, and sometimes at the expense of missing a good moment in the game.
