This is a Movi. It’s a “digital 3-axis gyro-stabilized handheld camera gimbal,” and it’s amazing. I mean, just look at that GIF up there! So hypnotic. Chance Nguyen, editor of our sister site FullyM, says he “wants to cuddle with it,” which I think about sums it up.
From Imaging Resource:
The device, which is like a gyro-driven steadicam combined with a handheld DSLR rig, weighs less than 3.5 pounds and is completely silent. You don’t need a separate apparatus to operate it but you can employ an additional gimbal operator for the MōVi if you want to get some really fancy shots.
Of course, the thing costs $15,000, which is probably beyond the price range of your average photographer – though it’s actually pretty reasonably priced for what it is. If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative, maybe you should consider a chicken cam.
