Yup that’s right! Our friend, photographer Benjamin Von Wong, has put down his camera (well he kinds of slams it down) and teamed up with Composer, Andrew Kesler, and Nikon Professional Services in an audio project.
Featuring $30,000 worth of Nikon cameras, the Von Wong/Kesler plus team pull together another crazy creative, super last minute piece of art which any Nikon fan boy or girl will love.
And well because we all want to see the mechanics behind the magic, check out the behind the scenes video of the project.
There’s a lot more BTS materials over at his blog for those that are interested check it out.
And the inspiration for the piece? Well a video comparing the shutter sounds of Canon cameras. Being a Canon fanboy myself, I’m hoping that Canon does a retort video or I may have to take up the challenge myself! Though I’m admittedly a visual kid, largely tone deaf and lacking anything resembling rhythm so I’m hoping there’s someone out there that’s willing to lend a hand.
And on a final note, I still think the sound of Canon’s EOS 50D (my first DSLR, of which I own three or and all three still going strong) is by far the best.
So what do you think of the project? Any camera shutter sound you like the best? Or better yet, what would you do if given $30,000 worth of camera gear?
