Nikon Teases Retro Full Frame Camera in New Video

Word on the street is that Nikon’s gearing up to release a full frame camera in the style of the vintage Nikon FM2 35mm to compete with the Sony A7.

The rumors, from PetaPixel, are these:

Specs, according to NR, are as follows: the same 16.2-megapixel full-frame sensor found in the D4, a pentaprism viewfinder (hence the assumption that this will not be a mirrorless camera), an Expeed 3 processor, a 3.2-inch LCD screen, native ISO of 100-12,800 and 5.5fps continuous shooting for up to 100 shots.

Nikon hasn’t officially announced the camera yet, but a recently released video appears to be a teaser for it. You can watch the video above. Judging by the video’s name (Pure Photography #1), we assume it’s the first in a series that will culminate in an official announcement of the camera.

What do you think, folks? Are you excited about the vintage-styled camera?
